I can't enjoy it at all. It always sounds made up to me. It's very harsh sounding and not nice.

I personally wouldn’t use it but wouldn’t mind seeing it on someone else’s child. Would make an interesting middle name too. My only association with it now is an elf/fairy from the kid’s cartoon Ben & Holly.

I'm not sure how people expect it to be pronounced. I guess tar-kin or tar-kwin, but part of me wants to say tar-keen or tar-kween...

My only associations are Tarkin from Star Wars, who blew up a planet, and Tarquin, Lucretia's rapist. I don't understand the appeal.

I’ve realized though, that unless I can look at a name and say oooh yes I’d name one of my children that, I don’t really like it. I’m not great with how to disassociate names from naming an actual my child that, to liking it for someone else.
