It has that old-timey, vintage but charming feel to it. I like it. Then again, I don't want to come across as fully biased as this actually happens to be my last name, only with a different spelling.I'm proud to carry it and plan to pass it along onto my kids if presented with the opportunity.
I do think it's useable, although I'm definitely more used to seeing it, well, as a last name, outside on a few associations and characters.
