Is it ever usable?

It has that old-timey, vintage but charming feel to it. I like it. Then again, I don't want to come across as fully biased as this actually happens to be my last name, only with a different spelling.I'm proud to carry it and plan to pass it along onto my kids if presented with the opportunity.
I do think it's useable, although I'm definitely more used to seeing it, well, as a last name, outside on a few associations and characters.

It'll be back before you know it. I think it's starting to come back across the pond.
I think it's ugly but just about poised to see it as cute.

One of my favourite Wil names. Definitely usable.
I love Wilbur and totally think it's usable.
It’s definitely usable. There’s one in my son’s music class and I’ve heard of a few others as well.

I dont think so
I don't think it's that bad. It's only a small step beyond Wilfred.
I think hearing Wilberforce made me like it more; it seems modern compared to that.

Can't get past the pig in Charlotte's Web.
Perfect for a cartoon wimp. I actually prefer Wilfred, and that's saying something.
No, not usable, not since Charlotte's Web got to be so popular. It was already uncool at that time, probably.
Outside of Charlotte's Web, I don't think it's usable.
I find it unbearably ugly and completely unusable.
I think of the horse in "Mr. Ed" saying "Wiiilllbuuuur."
I don't like it, but talking to thousands of people in the course of over ten years on the job has led me to believe that no name is really unusable.

Did anybody ever see that old Disney short where goofy goes fishing with his cricket? (Or something, I haven’t seen it in years.)
Anyway, because of that all I can hear is Goofy shouting “Wiiiiiiiiiiilbuuuuuuuuuur!!!”

Some pig
I really love it and I think it'll start cropping up more over the next few years, but right now I think it would take a bit of bravery to use.
I do like most Wil- names, though.
