This is my SO's favourite name. He is desperately trying to convince me of it. I do like it. It is whimsical, and I love the connection both to the Roman goddess and to the Northern Lights. I think it just sounds a little clunky in English. I prefer the French version: Aurore. So, I also prefer the Finnish pronunciation to the English. There are very few, if any, words and names that sound better in English, in my opinion.

As for nicknames, I like Rorie, Rora, Aura (obviously no good for you), Aurie, Rorie-o, and Oreo.
