My nine-year-old wanted to name his pending sister Odette, or perhaps Odile, I'm not sure but I know he'd been watching Swan Lake.I ignored him. Later, he thanked me!Chase seems unpleasant to me, but I'm not American.

Mixed feelings
I have two associations with it. It makes me think of a mean high schooler, but I also love that there's a name that's an action verb! It feels like the male equivalent of Grace, in that feels like a pleasant name for an energetic kid.

This was a more a curiosity about vibes than a serious inquiry into use. I'm enamored of the cute little way he says it (his Js and Chs aren't quite distinct yet) but DH hates it. Our older son wants to name him Samwise Gamgee. >_
