I don't personally know anyone named Hendrix but, I've heard of a few kids here and there with the name. Sounds better as a nickname in my opinion

They’re cool names - both in the same vein. I know kids with either name. Hendrix is one I always thought was neat; wasn’t until I met a Maverick that I could picture it as a name.

I absolutely love Hendrix but Maverick makes me think of fish, maybe because of Mackerel and the spelling looks quite similar to me. I can see why Hendrix and Maverick would be considered the same type of name though.

Hendrix is much too associated with Jimi, but I like Henrik and Hendrik. I used to like Maverick before I knew what it meant in English - it has a pleasant, playful sound, and it's still a guilty pleasure of mine. It definitely doesn't mean friend of the sea. I can imagine both names on real life humans, but Hendrix is more likely to be a little boy, and when I think Maverick, I see a cowboy.

I really do not like the name Maverick. There is a video game from the late 90s where all the bad guys were called Mavericks. I just think there are better names out there.

Hendrix is alright. I like surnames for boys, it is very traditional. There are other surnames that I like more but it is fine.

Hendrix isn't that different from Hendrik, though it reminds me of Jimi Hendrix. It's fine. I prefer both Hendrik and Hendrix to Henry.

I can picture Maverick on a real person; it seems like it'd be a mildly embarrassing name to have, but not moreso than Merlin, I guess, and I'm fine with Merlin.
I'd have picked "intoxicating almighty", if I was looking for fake Maverick etymology: Mave + Eric, grandiose but intuitive.

Oh wow that's a bit rough. I thought maverick meant independent. There are 2 boys here in year 10 and 12 at our school with those names. Both good kids. I think Hendrix is nice too
