I love Arthur! It's been in my top fivie for ages. I don't think it's too old fashioned. I find it very strong and masculine.
Arthur, Emily and Julia make a very nice sibset.
Hannah
I will dub my first child Alexander. If you want to know what will occur if my first child is a girl, I will tell you. He will not be a girl.

Awesome!
I adore this name. Right now, I'm prefering it as a MN, but it's giving my other favorite names a run for their money yet again.
I don't think it's too old-fashioned. I mean, it *is* and "older" name, I suppose, but IMNSHO, I think that adds to its charm. I love "older" names. (Not to mention it also reminds me of King Arthur, so it also brings to mind noble and chivalrous connotations.)
I think Arthur, Emily, and Julia all go very well together. Emily and Julia are considerably more popular than Arthur right now (at least, here in the States), but I still consider them all "classics." :o)
"How you turned my world, you precious thing.
You starve and near exhaust me.
Everything I've done, I've done for you.
I move the stars for no one."

I love Arthur! I think of King Arthur (fair, noble, just, etc.), Arthur Wealey (form Harry Potter! Noble, fair, good-hearted) and my friend's brother (nn Artie, he's hilarious!).
So yes, I think it's an awesome first name! I love it!
I like it with Emily (Prefer Emma or Emmy) and Julia (But I'm biased :-P).
Julia Keelan
Warning! May start singing songs from any of the following musicals spontaneously:
Mamma Mia, Rent, We Will Rock You, Wicked, or Spamalot!

Arthur is a name that I can't get into. I've known some very nice guys name Art, but I don't like that NN, which it would be invariably shortened to at some point or another.
The sibset is nice, if a little bland.
What are the convulsions of a city in comparison with the insurrections of the soul?
Man is a depth still greater than the people.
