Hey all! :)
I'm writing a short story, and I've been struggling for a long time to choose a name for one character. I've had lots of ideas but nothing really felt appropriate. Finally today I've come across the name Disgleirio (it is a Welsh word name meaning to shine) and as a Welsh language learner and lover I've not only immediately fallen in love with it, especially that I've already loved disgleirio as a word, but I think it would really fit my character. I have a feeling it must be very rare in Wales and is definitely modern, but since my story is sort of semi-fantasy and on the quirky side that doesn't bother me at all.
I have a problem though - my character is a 15-year-old girl and I think this name could use some nickname to be more usable on a daily basis. But I'm really short on ideas! It doesn't have a huge nickname potential for sure but maybe you can help and come up with something? It doesn't have to be super obvious, and I'd like it to have some girly/cutesy or quirky vibe if possible.
