It literally just means wood, so no thanks.
As a Spanish speaker I just can't overlook that.

I usually think of Madeira Beach, Florida.
not sure I like it as a name, but I love the cake
“Have some Madeira my dear...” Alcohol. Nope.
Hi!!!!
I like it. It has a warm, comfortable vibe. I like that means 'wood' as well as the island and the vines.
The most important thing is the wood element in my opinion. Makes it familiar.

There's nothing like a fine Madeira.
Unless Madeira is a person.

I hear it's lovely this time of year.
Beautiful island. I hope to go there soon. I wouldn’t use it unless your child is conceived/born there and in that case use the nickname Maddy. (Sorry if I’m harsh)
Not harsh, at all. I don't plan on ever using the name.
It's very obviously alcohol named after a place, to me, but it sounds pretty. I think I'd prefer it to most other Mad* names.

I'm not real sure how to pronounce it. Ma-deer-a? Which just sounds like "my dear" or Tyler Perry's M-Dea.
