I heard a kid being called Colette today, and I didn't hate it.
One of my childhood friends had the MN Nicolette, and I remember she didn't like it. I thought it seemed fancy (like, in comparison to Nicole) and harsh (probably because of nicorette + col reminds of cold). Colette reminds me of the author and also seems industrial to me, usually.
