Lourdes
I can't stop thinking about Lourdes. I don't even know how it happened, don't remember how the name popped into my head - but she's there, and she seems to be staying. Being an English speaker, I pronounce the name LOOR-des (or LOOR-dis). I find the listed English pronunciation LOORDZ unattractive, personally; and I've also never even heard it said that way, anyway, so I'll keep saying LOOR-des with 2 syllables.Anyway, WDYT of Lourdes? What are some Lourdes combos you can throw my way? I'm mostly looking at Lourdes as the first name, but in the middle is fine, too.***Please rate my personal name lists:www.behindthename.com/pnl/69381

All I think of is that place with miracle water or something. I legitimately thought you were talking about that place "I can't stop thinking about Lourdes. I don't even know how it happened-" like something happened while you were there. As a name, its just as religious as naming your baby Jesus to meI pronounce it like loordz and personally find it super ugly, even with the alternate pronunciations

I love it! One of the prettiest and least overdone Marian names. A bit too associated with Madonna's daughter right now, though. I would pair it with another Spanish / Romance name, such as:Lourdes Renata
Lourdes Donata
Lourdes Avila
Lourdes Carmen
Lourdes Blanca
Lourdes MagdalenaMore English-sounding combos I like:Lourdes Jolene
Lourdes April
Lourdes Haven
Lourdes Jemima
Lourdes Noelle
Lourdes Jane
Lourdes Irene

Lourdes makes me think of a rapper or hip-hop artist, but apparently it is a town in France with a neat looking castle.
According to legend, the Virgin Mary appeared to Maria Bernada Sobirós (in her native Occitan language) on a total of eighteen occasions at Lourdes. Since that time, Lourdes has become a place of pilgrimage and is associated with miraculous healings. Statue of Our Lady of Lourdes in the Grotto
