I am not a fan at all. It reminds me of many characters named Gary that are lame and it reminds me of scary Gary, Indiana. On many a road trip I have driven through Gary, Indiana although recently it was looking a bit better in the 90's it looked like a post-apocalyptic wasteland.I prefer Gareth, Garrett, and Garrison.

I know someone called Garry after a place in Scotland called Invergarry. Any Gary i’ve Known has been a little older than me so I always associate the name with the 70s and not with the 2000s.

I've got a wonderful Gary nephew who was named in honour of Gary Player the golfer. In spite of that, I don't enjoy the name; it seems too nicknamey and not very adult. I've always wished DN had been named Gareth instead!

Horrid and elderly sounding. Gareth is marginally better, but still ugly.

Hi !!!I like Gary as full name. It is short and simple with a clear meaning (spear). It is ageless in my opinion because it is quite classic. I have good namesakes for it: Gary Oldman (actor) and Gary Hobson (character).A solid, not pretentious name.
