YouTuber BA + if you had to...
So I was just on Instagram, and one of my favorite YouTube families, Brad and Rach, had just announced the birth of their second baby girl! Eloise Elizabeth E. (yep, even their last name starts with an E...) joins 20-month-old twins Lyndle June and Berend "Bear" (Bear's middle name escapes me rn lol). They got Eloise's name from a song of the same name by a duo called Penny and Sparrow. (has anybody heard of this band? Cuz I haven't...)Anyway...1) What do y'all think of Eloise, Lyndle, Berend, and the nickname Bear? The sibset as a whole?2) If you had to give your baby a name from a song, what would it be and why? Who sings the song you're referring to?~~~~~formerly PeachyGirl86I usually put the link to my PNL here, but I'm revamping it atm

I like Eloise, and I like Elizabeth, but I don't like them together. Too much of a mouthful.Lyndle is terrible, and so is Berend, but I like June. Bear as a nickname must die, a fiery death. So tired of hearing it, it isn't cute.Never heard of Penny and Sparrow. If I had to give my child a name from a song, I would name my daughter Adia, like the Sarah McLachlan song. I like the song, but I like the name, more. So, it would really only be half inspired.

I love the name Eloise.

Lmao Lyndle. That is terribleIdk wtf Berend is. Maybe... kind of a cool name objectively. Bear is a goofy nickame but whatever. Eloise Elizabeth is OK, prissy.I'll think about the song thing. Gotta like the name AND the song AND the message. My first thought was "Juliet" from the dire straits song but the lyrical context isn't a great thing to hang identity on IMO. My old answer used to be Adélaïde from a very lovely beethoven song, but again maybe not the greatest lyrical context... hmm

Eloise Elizabeth is a mouthful, and Eloise has a prissy feel to it, but also bratty because of the kids' book character Eloise, who was a blue-ribbon jerk. lol
Lyndel sounds like an old man's name. Not even sure how to say it: Lyn-DELL, or to rhyme with kindle?
Berend is hard to say as well. Bear is lame, and as a nn it sounds like a big fat man's nn.I'd choose Jessica as a name from a song. I'd actually use Jessica if I had another daughter today.
The song "Jessica" is an instrumental by the Allman Brothers. If I recall, Dickie Betts named it after his own daughter. I don't actually care for the song (I don't like instrumentals much) but it works.

I don't really like Eloise, as I don't like Louise. And Lyndle sounds like Ladle. As a whole? It seems like Eloise is the odd one out. Also, if I had to name my baby from something in a song, it would Definitely be Valerie.

Berend's middle name is Porter, per a google search.I don't really like any of their names, except June.--I don't go around telling people, but my daughter is at least partially named after the My Chemical Romance song. That's how Helena ended up on my list when I was 15, anyway.

I can't get over the wheeze in Eloise but I see why others like the name. Lyndle is strange - is it supposed to be like Lynda + Elle or something? Bear is cute as a nickname but Berend just makes me think of a bear's butt. The sibset as a whole sounds sort of fantasy-ish for some reason I can't quite put my finger on.I'd probably go with Rhiannon after the Fleetwood Mac song (obviously) as that's what my mom wanted to name me.

I thought the exact same thing of Berend! Definite no from me.

1)
I like the name Eloise but wouldn't use it as I know too many people who I associate it with (although they are all lovely). Don't mind Bear as a nickname but I hate Lyndle but love June. And can appreciate that Lyndle June is a good combo.2)
Okay hear me out on this one. I'd pick Tennis after Lorde's Tennis Court.
I know its fully just a noun but the more you say it the more it sounds like it could be a name and I love the sound of it (and the song)

My answers1) I love the name Eloise, it's very pretty, but I think the fn-mn-ln combo is way OTT and the two El- names just don't flow. And is it me, or does the sibset not really match either? As for Lyndle, Berend, and the nickname Bear, I didn't like their names either at first (still don't like Berend lol), but they've really grown on me in the past 20 months.2) I'd definitely go with Iris, obvs from the Goo Goo Dolls hit. Not only do I love the name itself, but the song is just so pretty!
