With so many Indian names to me, despite being masculine, they sound a bit feminine to me except maybe Aditya. For a girl, it could work. I like the name Arina, a Russian variant of Irina, a bit more though and the "i" sound is a bit softer in the middle then the "u" sound.I don't particularly like it, though.

I personally don't care for it. The "roon" in the middle just sounds a little ugly, in my opinion. However, it does get points for being easy to pronounce and spell.

I can’t see why it shouldn’t work. For me, the pronunciation is intuitive and, while perhaps a bit exotic, the sound is lovely and soft. I know a young American woman from a blended-culture family whose name is comprised of Aruna, from her father’s family, and a commonly-used traditional name, from her mother’s family, smooshed together. She grew up attending American public schools and had no difficulties related to her name.

I like it. It reminds me of Runa but has a slightly different feel.

Not my cup of tea. The "roon" sound is harsh to me.
