I actually like these names and I have no idea why. I like Everly better because it sounds more like a “normal” name.

I am not able to prefer one over the other because to me they are equally horrendous.

Everly is a modern GP of mine. I like a lot of Ev- names: Everly, Evanna, Evangeline... (Not big on Evelyn, though, and that's the most popular one.) I actually do know a real-life little girl named Everly, and it doesn't sound weird or inelegant at all. It's similar in sound to Beverly, which is a name I actually liked as a kid (thanks to Beverly Cleary), but I understand if people find Beverly dated.

I think Everly can transcend "trendiness" perfectly well... as long as it's spelled this un-fussy way, and not in some "tryndee" fashion like Everleigh, or something. That will become dated fast.

I'm sorry, though, I don't like Oakley at all. For either gender. I don't like the "oak" sound.

Like the other posters I don't like either one very much; they're just trendy-sounding surnames. On the strength of the full names, I'd pick Oakley because of Annie Oakley. But as someone else mentioned, Everly does have better nickname options for a girl.

Oakley. It just seems less stupid and more namey. Everly sounds like someone drunk saying "every," and it just doesn't make sense because of looking like the word "ever" and the ending "ly" - and anyway it seems to mean something about pigs. An Everly would have been named Emily or Evelyn pre-internet, if people couldn't look up popularity - it's just a sound-name. I don't care for Oakley, the brand association bothers me, and I don't like the sound -- but I'd much rather be or meet an Oakley.

Both are very ugly, but if I were forced to choose at gunpoint I'd go with Everly.

Everly. I like it, would consider using it if I lived in an English speaking country.
Oakley isn't my thing, and especially not for a girl.

For a girl neither, both are horrid and way to masculine for girls. I really both for boys though.

If I had to pick just one (for a boy) I choose Oakley (which I did for my cat).

Definitely Everly! Oakkley is too brand associated.

Everly. No hesitation there. I actually don't mind it. I think it actually sounds nice and I MUCH prefer it over 'Oakley' and even the more similiar name, 'Beverly'
I can't take Oakley seriously. It just sounds so goofy to me. Also back in elementary school, there was a teacher (a frequent sub) named 'Ms/Mrs. Oakley' and I just remember her being a very strange and eccentric woman which just adds to the weirdness for me.
Everly sounds much more useable as a given name where as 'Oakley' is best left as a surname or at least a dog's name or something.

Oakley. At least Oak is a cool tree. Everly would just result in yet another Evie.

They're both pretty names. I prefer Everly to Oakley though.

If I had to use them, I think Oakley for a boy and Everly for a girl. Though both are much better suited for pets.

I shudder at the thought of using either, but I love the music of the Everly brothers so I’d probably choose that. But I’d much rather use Phillipa or Dawn as a tribute.
