Briar
Do you like Briar for a boy? I've only met one Briar IRL and it was a boy, but it seems like it's more popular for girls.
What kind of person does Briar make you think of? Is it different if it's a boy vs. girl?
Any combo ideas or names you'd expect for siblings?
ETA: Is it hard for little kids to pronounce?

It's a really neat name for anyone of any gender. A downside is that it's often mistaken for Brian written down, but many names have problems like that.
Even though I like it better fir a girl, I don’t mind it for a boy. Other siblings should have other nature or word names.
I prefer it for a Boy. I like it for both genders.

Well, as a Canadian, it currently makes me think of the manhunt that just ended in which one of the suspects name was Bryar. https://www.thestar.com/vancouver/2019/08/10/family-of-chynna-deese-allegedly-killed-by-bc-teens-kam-mcleod-and-bryer-schmegelsky-says-they-forgive-and-have-mercy.html
In a vacuum, I find it kind of difficult to say and I guess the sound is pleasant enough, but it doesn't do much for me. I prefer something like Bryce.

I think it's ugly as a name for either a boy or a girl. I think it's ugly even for a pet.
It just has a snarling, harsh sound, and the association with sharp spiky things that stick to your socks or get in your dog's paws is too strong.

I don't like Briar for either gender, but I prefer it on a boy. I imagine a female Briar would bear the middle name Rose, and be named after the Disney princess. I can also see her as a spoilt and annoying child. I imagine a male Briar would be eccentric and slightly pretentious, maybe an artist.

Hi !!!
I think that Briar is pretty unisex.
On a girl it reminds me the famous princess but on a boy it is linked with a rose garden in my mind.
Infact in Italian 'rose garden' is roseto that would be a wonderful masculine name if it were actually used (unfortunately isn't).
So Briar has the same vibe of Roseto in my mind plus it is enough similar to Brian and Blair to be perfectly masculine.
I personally prefer Briar as masculine and something like Eglantine for a girl.
