I don't like it because gage and gauge are words, but not particularly attractive words to put on a kid as a name. I like some words as names, just not this one.
Yeah, I agree with the others. It sounds hypermasculine. It also makes me think of an ear “gauge” which is ugh.
It sounds like something a gearhead dad would insist his son be named. The kind of dad that would lose it if his son even looked at a doll.
I like it. It’s short, but it seems complete. It’s also not overused, but not unheard of.

It sounds ugly to me, very modern and hyper-masculine.
It sounds hyper-masculine to me... and very small town midwest which is not necessarily a bad thing but it's a bad association for me.
