Owen for a girl?
I'm sure this has been discussed before but I recently read that Michelle Branch's daughters name is Owen Isabelle. WDYTO Owen for a girl name? I prefer it on a boy myself.

I like alot of boys names on girls,
I don't see why it's bad.And, I think it's a nice choice for her child.

No, no, no. I agree, leave it to the boys...(m)I'm not big on unisex names on girls in general, though. :b But I'm sick of people finding "new" names to use on girls, and then a lot of other people thinking they are 'ruined' for boys. 'Oh, you can't use that for your son because so-and-so named their daughter that.' *rolls eyes* I think you hit a nerve, huh? LOL. BTW, I don't even like Owen much on a boy, but it's a hell of a lot better than on a little girl. One consolation-At least Michelle Branch used a feminine mn with it. :-/

I dislike itI really don't see the point. Is a male name like Owen the best she can come up with?Every time I see this I get this message "Female names are not good enough b/c women are not as strong and valuable as men"."But it’s all right now.

I didn't even know Michelle Branch had a daughter. Owen's not that horrible imo.

It honestly doesn't sound feminine in the slightest to me. I think Rowan would be much better, similar sound, still a largely masculine (strong?) feeling, but as a nature name much more appropriate in the unisex realm.

It's nothing new.Cass Elliot had one daughter named Owen Vanessa. I don't like it, but it makes me sad that many people crucify Michelle Branch over it (not saying that you are, but I know other people who have), when she's not the first person to think of it.Array (who prefers Cass to Michelle, in any case)
