I love the name Nancy. It's so sweet and feminine and friendly. My "adopted" grandma (whose mn I share) was named Nancy Kate. So it has special significance to me.

I have warmed up to this name, and I think it's ready to come back in style. I think Nancy from Stranger Things has really helped me like this name.

Hate it. Always have, always will.

I like it a lot. The only Nancy I've ever known, a former colleague from the UK, didn't like it and went by Nan. It was her full name. So there are no local associations to muddy the waters.I don't think it would work spontaneously as a nn for Anne in today's world. So if I used it, in an alternative universe, I'd use it as is.I amused myself the other day by making a list of girl names ending in -sy or equivalent. I got Nancy, Betsy, Daisy, Lucy and Topsy, and I like all of them enough to use: if I ever had quintuplets and went mad, I think I'd go for Anne and Elizabeth rather than Nancy and Betsy; or maybe not.

Nancy is one of my "bad association" names, so it's a no from me. Besides, it's dated and Anna is much better!

Hi !!!I like Nancy.
It is a sweet and lively name. It doesn't seem a nickname in my opinion and that's positive.I like also because of the beautiful song: 'Nancy Mulligan' by Ed Sheeran.

It’s okay as a nn for Anne or for names containing it. Not my style, but not awful.

I like it as a NN. I know two - one with sister Bess, and one with brothers Fin and Jonah. I think it's the full name in both cases.

what would it be a nickname of?
