Tawny
Do you like Tawny? Chances of a comeback? There is a main character on a popular show named this at the moment (Cloak and Dagger).

I kind of like, but it also feels really tacky to me.
I think it's the name of a poster here? Other than that, I've never heard of or interacted with anyone named it IRL.
The impression it gives me is...earthy. When I hear it, I see animal colorings and (wine) cellars and the word 'tawdry'...no people.
I'm inclined to group it with Twila, though apparently those are from different times. I think Twila sounds prettier, so I'd rather see that come back.
I'd also guess that use of Tawny was related to the popularity of Tanya / Tonya, which I don't see coming back anytime soon.

Reminds me of the color.
The Tawny Frogmouth owl... don't love it
I don't like it because of the aw part. That spelling just disagrees with me somehow. Don't like Dawn either. And I don't usually go for T names very much. Otherwise I think it's a nice enough modern name.
Amber, Brandy, and Tawny are all very similar styled IMO. They're the Ruby, Scarlett, and Sienna of the 70s-80s.
I like Brandy and Sienna but not the others very much.

I think of tawny blonde hair and tawny owls. It's fine as a nn, maybe for Dawn or Antoinette.
I think it's fine. Not something I'd use, but not bad on someone else's child. A nice enough sound.
I went through the list of characters from Cloak & Dagger, there doesn't seen to be a Tawny. Maybe you meant Tandy?
Anyway, I don't care for Tawny, its pretty dated to the 80s like Tiffany. I don't think it will make a comeback anytime soon, only 6 girls were named Tawny in 2018.

Port...
My grandfather enjoys Tawny Port. It also sound like the name of either an exotic dancer or drag queen..

I got carded recently at the liquor store. I motioned to my purchase and joked, “got a lot of teenagers sneaking in to buy nice 20-year tawny ports, eh?”
The cashier was not amused.

If this were used on a stripper character in a movie, I would expect real strippers to speak out about how these stereotypes are totally unfair and their names are much classier in real life.
Hard to make a "comeback" when it was never popular in the first place.
It's totally low-rent and tacky. Like Misty and Bambi. Like aging strippers with big fakies and huge eighties hair.
