Ottawa is the capital of Canada, and Toronto is the capital of Ontario. Ottawa is right on the border with Quebec, so there’s a bit of a Francophone influence. I expected to see more ethnically diverse names in Toronto considering it’s the most popular city for immigrants to settle, but birth announcements may not be as important when you’re starting a new life and nobody you know would live nearby to see it. You can definitely see the hipster vibe in Toronto though.
