Yesterday's post by basilisk about Philomena reminded me how much I love Philomela and lament the lack of recognition it gets. So, who are the Philomela enthusiasts out there? I'm totally enchanted by the name itself, the multiple meanings ("lover of fruit/sheep/song," depending on whether you honor the original eta or misread it as an epsilon), and the mythological association.
