I think it's a very elegant name, I didn't realize it's Dracula spelled backwards as I only recognize it as the Castlevania character (which isn't a bad association imo because he's very handsome lol) but learning that doesn't put me off from the name.
And regarding the nickname, I don't think it's fair to criticize "why didn't they just use that as the first name if they wanted to call him Luca" because I've seen a fair amount of people use seemingly random nns and no one batted an eye at those, while this nn is actually derived from the name.
