I like Jack, but Barrett is harsh and reminds me of barette. That said, they are not bad as a sibset.

Jack: Boring. If you really must, at least put John on the birth certificate.

Barrett - it sounds like "bear it" and comes from a surname probably meaning "strife" in Middle English, originally given to a quarrelsome person (don't see the appeal).Jack - okay, but unoriginal and brings to mind (Stonewall and Andrew) Jackson, Jaxon, Jaxson, Jaxxon, Jaxxson, Jaxxxon, Jaxxxson...

I love Jack as a nn, or I did until it became popular as a full name. I dislike Barry, and lnfns, so bye-bye Barrett.
