I love the name Archibald! This man woud be trustworthy, affectionate, and sociable.
The only problem is that I hate Archie. Archie doesn't have enough consonants to soften the 'ch' blend. I would go with Ari or Chip (or even Bill) instead.
I, too, seriously hope Archibald makes a comeback.
