I should have clarified...
...that I meant Katie/Katy/Katey as a NN for Katherine/Catherine.I need to be more specific, because every time I ask about a nickname, I assume everyone knows it would have a fuller version. Whoops. Hmm. Your ideas are intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.

It becomes more interesting when it's a nickname for something other than Katherine. I know a Kate whose full name is Kathleen, for example, which is definitely way less common than Katherine for someone born in 1996.

Or, Katharina, or Katrina. Both good options.
