It charted for boys in the US in 2017, so clearly some people think it's usable for boys.

I dislike it regardless, because NO! and "he doesn't go" (Spanish). But I think that as the word for an exploding star, it's more suited to a guy, or at least less ridiculous than it is on a gal. Maybe because it sounds like Noah ... and maybe because of Liz Phair. Nova: ****s like a volcano.

Nova would absolutely work on a boy. I wouldn't use it myself, but I don't really see any difference between this and Noah. Sure, Nova is the feminine singular form of the adjective, but why should that matter? It's a Word, and the bending is probably not going to bother the bearers.

This is an odd choice I have seen used on boys lately. Makes no sense to use it on a male. It is a Latin feminine adjective and there is really no history of this name being used on boys other than a few parents thought this sounded close enough to Noah and stuck it on their sons. No.

For sure. It's more of a nature name to me.

Honestly the biggest thing I see potentially being an issue (whether good or bad is entirely up to you) is that I'm sure Disney/Marvel will make a Nova film in the next decade or so as two of their prominent (male) characters do have the codename Nova and they've already introduced the Nova Corps (the basis of operation for the character) in the Guardians of The Galaxy films.

Personally speaking, I met a teenage boy named T'Challa last year and he seemed to think the Black Panther movie was one of the coolest things that had ever happened to him concerning his name (The Black Panther is named T'Challa) so I doubt most kids would find a superhero association to be a bad thing.

All girl to me, Noah is more masculine though. It reminds me of Olivia somewhat.

I could see it being used without much problem, but I don't like it. I think Neo or Noah would be better.

Yes, but I dislike it for both genders.

It's ludicrous. Word name it may be, but it's a feminine adjective in Latin. The masculine equivalent would be Novus. I cannot imagine why a male Nova could ever look like a good idea, but no doubt he would be unlikely to learn any Latin so he'd never know that he was a walking howler.
