I like it. The sound is nice and it has certain nice attitude about it. (can't describe that properly)
Sadly, my second though when seeing it is that it's a cow's name. I wish it was ready for a comeback, but I doubt that.

I was thinking of oud besje ("little old lady", literally: "old berry") myself, perhaps that's why the name seems to give off a bit of a friendly vibe? :D

Yes, that could be it! I picture a nice old lady, who isn't to be messed with at the same time when I hear Bess :)
