Fay is better than Faye, Fae is worse. I wouldn't use any of them: flimsy and vacuous.

It is a pretty and simple sweet name. I like it.

I like it but I like Fay better. I like it as a middle name.

I have an Aunt Fay (born 1950s). Her first name's Hazel, which she hates, so she goes by her middle. I have a great-aunt Fay (actually she might spell it Faye? born 1920s) on the other side of my family. The Faye spelling looks a bit ditzier to me than Fay does. Fay sounds country...rural and quaint...magical and minimalist, if I make an effort to broaden my associations...and comes across like filler as a middle name...It's not unpleasant, but it seems dated to me, and I'd prefer Maeve or Hope if I wanted something that gave me a similar vibe.

It's the only one syllable girl name I can think of at the moment that I actually like. Without the E it looks unfinished and, I don't know, broken? Like someone snapped the end off it, if that makes sense. With the E it's beautiful.

Faye is not a fave. I started to answer your post several times but stopped, due to the fact that I could think of nothing to say about this name. And that's the problem with it. It's a nothing IMO.

Interesting comment. I feel the same way sometimes. I want to like it.

Classic and beautiful. A name that I hold close to my heart as it happens to be the middle name of my late mother who passed away last May. );
I absolutely plan on using it for a potential daughter in honor of her. (Lucy Emiliana Faye) ♥

I really like it without the 'e'. It's one of my favorite names, actually. :)

It’s pretty, but for some reason it feels kind of empty to me.
