It makes me think of grey suede loafers.

I don't understand why anyone likes it for either gender. It's ugly and pseudo-posh. I love Audrey Hepburn, but Audrey is dowdy. Aubrey is just as awkward sounding.

The initial sound literally makes me feel sick. Same with Audrey and Autumn. My son has divulged that he and his partner considered naming their daughter Autumn.Thank God they didn't.

I really dislike it on a girl. It always looks like a typo for Audrey and I just prefer it on boys. Plus, it got really common like Hailey in the late 90s. I prefer Aubriella, Aubrietta, etc.

Awesome for a boy. Trendy and overused for a girl.

I think that it is a pleasant, strong and under-used name - for a boy, that is. For a girl ... I've never seen it used on a girl where I live, and I cannot for the life of me see the point. Maybe it started out as a supposed variant of Audrey? But since I dislike bland, flabby Audrey, I can't see the point of that either.

Its ok, to me there's nothing terribly special about it, its just another boys name thats trendy on girls right now. I prefer Audrey for girls, it feels more classic and mature then Aubrey, I like Aubrey for boys though.

On a girl it's completely unremarkable to me, but on a guy it becomes new and exciting because of the lack of male Aubrey's (at least where I'm from).

I much prefer Audrey.Whether for a guy or girl, I've just never cared much for the sound of it, though believe me I've tried. Weird how just one letter can make such a difference but it just can.
Audrey sounds more feminine and CLASSIC. Aubrey...not so much. It just doesn't amount to its beauty.

Agreed.Audrey is elegant to me, while Aubrey is stuffy and silly.

Ditto this.Aubrey is just another tryhard unisex surname name, and it's casting its ugly shadow on the lovely name Audrey.
