I like the middle name
Blaine - as so much can be done with it, though especially in the middle form--though nothing need be done should the child prefer his first name - which might be more probable anyway.
I love how easily Blayne shortens to
Layne or Layney (spell these forms as you like).
I had a teacher in third grade by the name of Elaine--and I still wonder whether such a name (variation or derivative) might be usable for guys - yet when we review
Blaine - it may be indeed.

Ellen &
Hellen (consider Helenus - son to
King Priam)
