Baxter, Brady, or Blaine? (m)
You have to give one of these names to your son. Which one do you choose, and why? Hmm. Your ideas are intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.

BradyI generally prefer softer sounding names much like Brady rather than the harsher Baxter. Blaine, and not just because it rhymes with plain, is booooring.

They're all hideous. If I had to pick, Baxter. Blaine is so "try hard". Brady is whiney.

Blaine.I can at least tolerate Blaine. Brady and Baxter sound like names of dim-witted high school jocks.

I guess Blaine, because while I don't particularly love it, it's much better than the other two. Baxter feels like a pet's name more than a person, because 1. I used to like a Meow Mix commercial back in the nineties but which ran for years, where a cat called up his owner and meowed for Meow Mix. The cat's name was Baxter. 2. I have known two people (both of them hairdressers) who each had a bulldog named Baxter. And Brady is just annoying. Makes me think of the Brady Bunch and A-hole Tom Brady.

I'd choose Blaine. Baxter is a name I would give a dog & I don't like the name Brady

BlaineI like Brady and Blaine about the same, which is U don't loathe the names, so I went strictly on popularity.

I think I would choose Baxter. I don't like any of these names very much, but Brady is too much of a dog-name to me (a very cute dog, but still), and Blaine is a stuck-up 80s movie stereotypical rich boy. Baxter fits with Dexter, which is gaining some traction as a 21st century name.

Blaine. Baxter reminds me of this obnoxious kid with whom I attended elementary and middle school and whose surname it was. Brady makes me think of "The Brady Bunch", a show which I despise yet somehow managed to see every episode of by the time I had turned eighteen (have avoided it like the plague since, but the movie was funny.) Blaine doesn't make me think of anything, so it wins by default.

Blaine, because Brady is a cheesy 70s sitcom and Baxter sounds like someone who'd trip over his shoe laces a lot. Blaine is kinda blah, but in a way that could be fun?!?...I'm reaching but whatever. After looking it up, I like that the meaning is yellow....actually, now that I've thought about it...I do like Blaine. Huh. He seems so unfussed, about how I perceive Fran or Sullivan or Basil, all of which I like.

Brady mTo me Blaine is a sore and sounds plaintive and anemic, and Baxter is a medical supplies company and sounds like a beagle or maybe a wrestler ... neither do I like Brady, but only Brady is familiar as a regular guyname and sounds reasonably likeable.

Hi !!!All three were in my list in the past. On a boy I would choose Blaine but currently my favourite is Baxter (for a girl).

Blaine, because it sounds more smooth and sophisticated. Even though it has a bit too much of a "bad boy" connotation for my taste, it reminds me of Blair which I love.
Baxter is too spunky and celebrity-baby-name-ish and Brady sounds like the stereotypical bully jock in a teen flick.

Nooooo...I would be so depressed. Baxter, I guess, even though it sounds like a dog's name.

Ha! I said Brady sounds like a dog's name. But you're right, Baxter does too.
