I love Mona! It's graceful and romantic.
In my version of English it sounds like Moaner, so I wouldn't go near it. I like Shona, though.
The “moan” sound turns me off.

I went to school with a girl called Mona. Unfortunately in my accent (South of England) it sounds identical to moaner. Her parents, coming from a different region, didn't realise that.
I'm American and I still think of "moaner". It's a good name otherwise though.
I'd never really considered it before, but I like it. It's simple and sweet, but not too cutesy.
