Faye Vs. Flora
WE're definitely having another girl. The problem with Faye is I'm afraid it'll be confused with Faith since Faith is more common. Do you think that is a problem? The problems I have with Flora are the possible nickname by our nickname loving family is that it'll be shortened to Flo which I REALLY don't like. Also it is similar enough for my taste to Florence my grandmother's name. Not that I don't love my grandmother but we've never used a remotely similar family name for our other daughters.
So with that in mind do you prefer
Faye Genevieve
or
Flora Genevieve?
This would be with her older sisters Alice, Pearl and Thea.
Thanks
Jen

I like Faye better, but I like them both. I don’t think it will be that confusing.
Faye Genevieve is gorgeous. I would have thought that Faye was well known enough in its own right (Faye Dunaway), that it wouldn’t be mistaken for Faith regularly.
Alice, Pearl, Thea and Faye.

I really love Flora and related names (Floor, Florence, etc.). Flora Genevieve is a lovely combo and you can use the nickname Flor (or no nickname at all) and avoid Flo.
Really not a fan of Faye. It has a mid-century feel, which I like, but the sound and meaning just feel really lightweight and a bit childlike to me.

Faye.
Flora is somehow both twee and dumpy, and I wouldn't like it even without the margarine association I have (it's a UK brand).

That’s such a difficult one! Both great names that go really well with your other daughters’ names. But I’ve loved Faye for years, and there’s a personal association with Flora that I can’t get out of my head (not bad, but I haven’t come around to it yet). So I’d choose Faye, which I don’t think is so uncommon that it would be a big issue that it’s similar to Faith. Maybe there’d be a little mix up very rarely, but nothing too problematic. I also think Faye has a certain whimsical feel that’s shared with your other daughters’ names, Alice in particular.

Faye gets my vote.
I stay away from names with potential nn I hate, so Flora might grow up to like Flo no matter what you do. Also, I like the "flo" of the Faye combo better.
