Family BA
My cousin Michael and his wife Briar welcomed Elliott Margaret yesterday afternoon. She joins big brother John Romeo. Elliott is after Dr. Elliot Reid from Scrubs, and Margaret is after our grandmother. Here are the names of my other cousins' kids.Novah Patrick
Lochlan Alexander
Makayla RoseCarter GeorgeRyann LynnI was a little disappointed at first because I thought they had told me Ellen, but then I realized I completely misheard. I'm really starting to warm up to it. I'm just glad they used Margaret. I guessed they would, but the rest of the family said it was "too old-sounding" to use.

I really dislike the name—not because it’s a “boy’s name” (I like boy names on girls), but because it’s dated to the 2010s and the -t sound at the end of both names doesn’t flow well. Still, congrats to them!

I'm a fan of the name and also the TV show. However, I very much dislike the name on a girl. Whenever viewing an episode, I always wished that in the back of my mind that the writers would have used another name. I've always thought that "Allison\Alison\Alyson."benefited the character for some reason.
Great show, just a shame that some seem misconstrued into believing that Elliot is feminine or could work on a girl because of a character. I mean come on... \:<Margaret: Dated but still lovely
John Romeo: Dislike Romeo. I think it's associated too much with…shakespear obviously and has likely teasing potential. (Though probably more with it being a first name I would think)Novah Patrick: Dislike Novah, the spelling and wouldn't even imagine the name on a boy.
Lochlan Alexander: Very nice and would be even more if the original spelling would have been used.
Makayla Rose: Dislike Makayla. The combination has a good flow though despite 'Rose' being such a filler nameCarter George: Decent. However, I think 'George Carter' would have sounded betterRyann Lynn: Eww. Masculine and poor combination flow.

So modernly traditional with its own unique twist! Sorry but I really love this selection.

Ellen would have been so much better :( I'm not a fan of Elliot even for a boy, but on a girl I REALLY dislike it. Margaret isn't my thing either, but very nice as a MN. John is a bit boring and bland, I love Romeo though. Novah Patrick makes me wonder if this is a boy or a girl. Novah Margaret and Elliot Patrick would have been clear :P
Lochlan Alexander is okay
Makayla Rose is not my thingCarter George, even though I'm not a fan at all of Carter it does seem he's got the best name of the bunch. I don't like George, but it's okay as a MNRyann Lynn looks nice, but doesn't sound nice to me. I assume this is a girl? Are they saying it with the emphasis on ANN? Or just like Ryan with a different spelling?
I'm sorry I couldn't be more positive about your family's names...

They pronounce it like Ryan just spelt differently. I'm also liking Carter George the best. There's at least a cute reason behind why they chose Carter.

Pity they didn't go retro and name her Margaret Elliot. Elliot, especially when it isn't a family ln, is really unpleasant on a girl; more so because it originates with, I presume, a character in a TV series. Also, Elliot and Margaret rhyme annoyingly.

Your family likes make names on girls, eh? I really dislike Elliott and Ryann on girls.

I don't like Elliot on a girl. Ellen would have been so much nicer. I like John Romeo and I guess it goes well with Elliot but it sounds like they have two boys.
I prefer the spelling Lochlan over Lachlan because I prefer the LOKH pronunciation over the LAKH one. Although I only like it if it's pronounced like the proper pronounciation of Loch. I think it flows well with Alexander.
I don't really like any of the other names.

People pronounce Lachlan like “lack-Lin?” I’ve never heard it said that way, only “loch-Lin.”

I’ve heard of some people pronouncing it Lach-lin but I prefer the Loch sound so I feel like the spelling Lochlan gets that across.

But Elliot from Scrubs name was a joke, her father wanted a boy. Elliot on a girl is awful. Honestly the only good (first) name in the bunch is John, Lochlan is close, but it's misspelled.

I'm sorry but I hate Elliot for a girl. I was expecting a boy when I read Elliot and then it was followed by Margaret. I feel like those names really clash.
I would have loved seeing Ellen used instead and John and Ellen would make a lovely sibset. John Romeo is a very handsome combo!Anyway, congratulations to the parents and their families!
