It sounds vaguely chemical to me because of petrol and citronella, and I generally dislike feminine names that start with Pet because I read a patronizing tone into them.I've been liking Peronel / Peronelle recently, though.
These were my favorites of the combos...Petronel Clotilde
Petronel Daphne
Petronel Eulalia
Petronel Marjory
Petronel Octavia
Petronel Ursula

It's on our short list to use as a MN for honouring purposed (my mother is Petronella and my father in law is Petrus "Piet").
I can't decide if I like Pietronella or Petronel better. Either are fine, but nothing I get very excited over...
These combos jump out for me in a positive way. Petronel Aveline - The softness of Aveline balances beautifully with Petronel
Petronel Daphne - ditto Aveline
Petronel Isolde - The combo has a beatiful medieval feel to it.
Petronel Rosamund - ditto Isolde
Petronel Victoria - This combo is very feminine and strong sounding. Not so much girl-power, but classy woman-power. :)
Petronel Viveca - I love the sound of these together.Feminine and strong like Victoria.

I think it would make an interesting name for a petroleum company.
