Governments should make it mandatory that both parents are physically present for the registration of the child's birth, so that fathers can't pull stunts like these anymore on mothers who did all the work and risked their lives giving birth (as giving birth is never 100% safe). What an asocial move on his part - if I were her, I wouldn't be able to trust him anymore after what he did. I'd probably end up resenting him and divorce him. But well, that's just me.
