The C looks slightly more familiar (and old-fashioned) to me, but I tend to prefer K (and that can come across as trendy or modern) in general.
C vs K doesn't really change much to me when it comes to
Casper or
Kasper, though. What would make more of a difference to me would be changing the E to an A (
Caspar /
Kaspar), because that way it looks less like a noun (as if
Casper is someone who casps - even though that's not a word...it vaguely reminds me of gasper/clasper/grasper or whisper).
I don't have a strong opinion on the name itself.
My great-grandmother's 2nd husband was a
Casper, so old white men would be my 1st association with it...2nd association is the ghost...3rd association is
Jasper, which is more common where I live and reminds me of stones, 1001 Dalmatians, or names like:
Micah,
Ezra,
Carter,
Jackson,
Jesse.
Actually, I do like the possibility of
Cas or
Cass. So I vote
Casper.
