Yes, I too share your aversion to siblings with such similar sounding names.
But coming from the U.S.*, I can't fault these parents for giving their children classics that will wear well over time. Let's hope if they have any more that they will have tired of the "M"/"Math" theme.
On their own, I love both names.
* The U.S., where many parents think the initials mean they have to name their children Unusually Strange or Uniquley Silly names.
