Opinions on my boys'
I seriously have 428 names on my list at the moment, and I'm desperately trying to narrow it down. There's a lot of names ont he list that I normally wouldn't consider, but somehow, I have trouble removing them now. Some opinions and feedback on these names would be much appreciated, be brutally honest if you want to.
Aison
Albert
Aimes / Ames
Callum
Cassian
Devin
Evander
Gaston
Hayden
Ian
Indi / Indie / Indy
Isaiah
Jethro
Kaelan (KAY-lən)
Kelan (KEE-lən)
Ludwig
Matteo
Phineas
Raphael
Roan
Sidney
We’ve all got both light and dark inside us. What matters is the part we choose to act on. That’s who we really are. PNL: http://www.behindthename.com/pnl/45898
Top: Alice and William
Bottom: Dolly and Isidor'Eggbert' coming December 2018

I'd keep:
Phineas - just because it's an old fave of mine :) nn Phin is very modern
Evander - very modern sound, while still a unique name
Callum - Cal is a great nn
Ian - I've always had a soft spot for Ian
Roan - like it, and RowanI'd remove
Aison - sounds like Mason with no M. Kinda out there.
Albert - a little too old fashioned
Aimes / Ames - this sounds pretty cool, I am on the verge of keeping it... but it might be too surnamey
Cassian - sounds made up
Devin - this is okay, just not a fave of mine
Gaston - not even the good guy in Beauty and the Beast
Hayden - this is on the cusp, makes me think of Hayden Christianson
Indi / Indie / Indy - Indiana Jones
Isaiah - just not a fave of mine, sounds too religious for me
Jethro - sounds too hillbilly for me
Kaelan (KAY-lən) - this is on a cusp. My husband has a cousin by this name, spelled Cealan
Kelan (KEE-lən) - it doesn't flow well off the tongue. The similar Keagan feels more natural
Ludwig - too old and German
Matteo - it's on the cusp, just nms
Raphael - it's on the cusp, just too religious for me, being an Angel name
Sidney - I actually LOVE Sidney, but I can't see it coming back for boys any time soon

Aison- When I saw this, I immediately though handsome villain but couldn't figure out why and then I remembered 'Bleach.'
This is Aizen. Between the two, I prefer the spealling Aizen.
Albert- Queen Vicotria's husband, nice bald gentleman who supported scientific and artistic achievement.
Aimes / Ames- What are you aiming for? Let's talk about your goals and aims.
Callum- meh
Cassian - There were several Christian saints with this name who were writers, teachers, and scholars, so I picture a person who is passionate about causes and is interested in literature.
Devin - A handsome underused Anglo-Irish name. I like the possible meaning of 'poet.'
Evander - Love this! It contains a nice combination of strength, assurance, and masculine grace. Gaston
Hayden- composer of beautiful music
Ian - okay
Indi / Indie / Indy - I like this as a nickname for Indiana, which is one of my guilty pleasures. On its own, it makes me think of a hipster who hangs around Indie music festivals.
Isaiah - nice pleasant sound and interesting history
Jethro - very Old Testament
Kaelan (KAY-lən) - I like the sound of it, but I'm not crazy about how it looks on the page.
Kelan (KEE-lən) - sounds like killing with an accent
Ludwig - eccentric man with a wig collection
Matteo - handsome
Phineas - Sirius Black's great-great grandfather
Raphael - gorgeous, handsome, and I love the healer meaning
Roan - nice
Sidney - Charles Dickens character saying, "It is a far, far better thing that I do, than I have ever done; it is a far, far better rest that I go to than I have ever known." Then he is guillotined.

I LOVE:
Albert
Evander
Gastone
Isaiah
Jethro
Raphael
Hayden
Matteo I DISLIKE:
Sidney
Roan
Callum
.... btw, is there any chance you're a fan of "Jane The Virgin"? I just noticed that Matteo and Raphael are on your boy list. If you really like Matteo, the names Matthias, Mattheus, Elias seem similar to me.

I've seen a few episodes, but it was years ago. I'm not a fan. :)
Matteo is pretty popular here, just as Elias which you mentioned. Matthias/Mattias is a common name in my own generation and Mattheus isn't unheard of, either.

Aison - interesting
Albert - nice, friendly
Aimes / Ames - a surname to me. I quite like the similar Amias / Amyas though
Callum - dislike, it's always made me think of callouses
Cassian - interesting
Devin - a surname to me
Evander - dislike - 'e vandered away and never came back
Gaston - very great-grandpa, but I kind of like it anyway
Hayden - it's okay
Ian - dislike the sound of it
Indi / Indie / Indy - nmsaa
Isaiah - ditto, although I quite like the old French version Esaye
Jethro - nms, kind of lispy
Kaelan (KAY-lən) & Kelan (KEE-lən) - not my thang at all, remind me of keloid scars
Ludwig - nice, I enjoy the sound of it
Matteo - it's okay
Phineas - okay if you want a Finn/Phin/whatever, it's bound to get shortened
Raphael - nice
Roan - too horse-hairy
Sidney - Sid is cute, but Sidney reminds me of kidneys

Aison - Not a fan.

Callum - Never been a fan.
Cassian - I like this a lot.
Devin - Not my style.
Evander - One of my favorite boy names. Can't go wrong with Evander.

Isaiah - Too Biblical for me.
Jethro - Not my style.
Kaelan (KAY-lən) - Not a fan.
Kelan (KEE-lən) - Not a fan.
Ludwig - Not my style.
Matteo - I like this.

The ones I'd retain:
Albert - always classic, never trendy but never forgotten either
Hayden, though I prefer Haydn
Jethro for its sheer oddness!
Ludwig if that's appropriate where you live; I'd go for the Anglicised LudovicThe ones I'd use:
Ian is the only one really. My son would have been Ian if my sister-in-law hadn't recently divorced an Ian!

Aison - Sounds like you're saying "Ay son".
Albert - Not a fan of it, but I guess it's not too bad.
Aimes / Ames - It's okay.
Callum - Not a fan of it, but once again it is okay.
Cassian - I like it, a lot.
Devin - Once again, I like it.
Evander - Another like, still no loves though.
Gaston - Gastroenteritis
Hayden - Okay.
Ian - Don't like, can't imagine a baby Ian.
Indi / Indie / Indy - I really like them all, apart from Indi - it looks incomplete.
Isaiah - I do like this, possible middle name if I ever have boys.
Jethro - It's okay, verging towards likeable.
Kaelan (KAY-lən) - Not a fan, falls with Kayden, Jayden etc.
Kelan (KEE-lən) - Same as before, maybe a fraction better.
Ludwig - I feel that the 'lud' sound is a little harsh, but it's okay.
Matteo - I do really like this, prefer it to Matthew.
Phineas - Not a fan.
Raphael - Like it.
Roan - Horse coat colour.
Sidney - Love it, would use it as a middle name.Sorry if I have been too harsh, we just have different naming styles (I'm sure you'll dislike most of mine).

Thanks for the feedback, you haven't been too harsh. :)
I'm not so sure we have different naming styles though. I have all kinds of names on my list, and these are some of the names I'm unsure about. I haven't posted my favorites yet. ;-)
