If we pronounced it EVElyn, it would be pretty and I'd like it. But I don't think you could make people say that. Perhaps if you called a child Eve-Lynne? But I wouldn't bother.

I went to school with an EVElyn (female) and then there's Evelyn Waugh, also EVElyn. Those are the only two I've come across so I can't say for sure, but maybe it's the standard prn here, or was.
