Felix, Theodore & Zacharias
What do you think of Felix, Theodor/Theodore and Zacharias?
Theodore is the least common spelling of the name where I live, and Zacharias is being used instead of Zachary/Zachariah. They are all quite common where I live, but would love to hear some opinions on the names from an international perspective, what you like/dislike about them etc.
We’ve all got both light and dark inside us. What matters is the part we choose to act on. That’s who we really are.

Felix I love, it's a fave of mine. It's such a handsome name.
Theodore is alright, but I wouldn't use it.
Zacharias is nice, I quite like it.

I think Felix is very international and it is very on trend in the English speaking world. A little nerdy, but I quite like it.
Zacharias is handsome. In the US it would most like be used by Evangelical Protestants, but I don't know that would be assumed of someone with a different nationality.
Theodore is definitely having a moment in the US. I know 3 small Theodores. It's a name I've always wanted to like, but I find it a little awkward and tend to think of it as only a means to get to Ted or Theo.

Felix I just can't get behind. I'm sorry! I try, I try really hard and I've met little ones called Felix and I read about Felix and it's growing popularity and it's "hipster-ness" all the time but I just can't get past the cat food advert that is soooo popular in England. (Plus my best friend had a cat named Felix growing up so that doesn't help shift my association!)
Theodore I like. I like Theo and I like Teddy.
Zacharias, Zachary, Zachariah I dislike because of a personal association with the name Zach - it's ruined the name for me unfortunately. I like other "-iah" names though such as Tobiah, Jeremiah, Isaiah - I prefer these endings to the other options.

Not an international perspective from me but I'll answer anyway.
I like Felix but have a hard time imagining a grown man named Felix. It's like it's eternally a child's name.
Theodore is nice but it would bother me that I would always have to spell it (no matter what spelling I choose). I don't really like Theo as a nickname. It's trendy and bratty.
Zacharias is my favorite of these three names. Is it really common? I've never come across a Zacharias or heard of anyone with this name. I would describe it as a rare name. I quite like the spelling Zakarias as well (maybe even more than Zacharias). I can't say I'm a fan of the nickname Zach and I don't know if it's inevitable with a name like Zacharias.

I like them all, even though Felix is on the edge of being too trendy (to my taste). I've spent too much time on this website, so that the English form Theodore has started feel more "complete" to me. That said, Theodor is also a great name, especially in the Scandinavian context. Zacharias is one of my new name crushes and I'd like to see it used more often.
By the way, how common is Zacharias as a first name in Sweden? Is it popular currently and would it be considered as a "trendy vintage" name?
