Archibald

I've always found this is one of those names that have a silly vibe, works for a pet but not really a person.
I find it endearing but I wouldn't really consider it usable... I love Archie though.
Sorry, but I think it's awful.
It just seems too pretentious and snobby to me anyways, sort of in a Percival way. Plus, the bald sounds unattractive. Maybe it would make a good middle name though.

I've never been able to warm to it. Between the "bald" ending, and Archie Bunker, and the character of Archie in "Gone With The Wind", who had killed his wife because she "needed killing" because she was "layin' with my brother", nah. They outweigh the fun-loving, freckle-faced, red-headed musically-talented teenager lol.
I kind of love it. Always have. Yes, it's super clunky and handlebar mustache-y, but that's exactly why I love it. And Archie is a cute NN.
It's rising, so at least some people think it's usable. I think it's usable, but I wouldn't use it-- I was thinking about it a while ago, after reading a book wherein the main character was named Archibald "Archie" but I ended up putting Archer on my list instead. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I like softer boys names, so the -bald is too much for me personally.
