I like Lye more than
Etta. I mean, if it's pronounced like lee-yeh (and she, you know, never goes anywhere where people only speak English and are uncomfortable about foreign names looking like English words and insist that her name is the English word "lye" pronounced like "lie"). It wouldn't work well where I live.
Etta is a nothing name to me, I think of it as a diminutive suffix, so it seems sort of like naming a person Bitty or Tiny.
