Re: Some Ancient Greek names
in reply to a message by Cayden
I like Atalanta/Atalante the most but I wouldn't use it since in Modern Greek it's pronounced almost like the word for "talentless".
From your list the ones that are more used in Greece are:
Aristoteles
Artemis
Athena
Demeter (one of the most popular girl names)
Xenophon
Dionysos (almost always the derivative Dionysios is used)
Other ancient names I see often(-ish) are:
Penelope
Ares
Heracles
Aphrodite (4 in my family!)
Iphigeneia
Ourania
Andromache
Euridice
Antigone
Danae
Electra
Nausica
Nephele
Orestis
Achilles
Epaminondas
Themis
Hebe
Menelaos
