I feel like Clare, especially this preferable condensed spelling, is so quintessentially British (by American standards), and has a sleek minimalist look without the extra bulk of the added 'i' vowel in the more-used French form. 'Claire' feels older. Clare feels clean and buttoned up to me, but not bratty; an organized, successful person. Add a more elaborate middle name for balance and it's dynamite:
Clare Matilda
Clare Victoria
Clare Joanna
Clare Cordelia
Clare Fiona
Clare Josephine
Clare Lucia
Other English 'C' classics:
Catherine
Charlotte
Constance
Cecily
Cora (less classic, but definitely dynamic at the moment)
