Its a shy name. Its pale, but not sickly. Its the kind of name you give an introverted protagonist who turns out to find she has much more to offer the world.

It has a pretty sound, but I find it hard to take it seriously.

Well, not my case at all, never been.
The typeface with the -er ending lacks in my opinion the certain something;
if so, I would prefer to see a little Lavendel or Lavendélle.

I really like it, Lavender is one of my favorite flowers names - I'm going to exclude names meaning flower.

Iris is my favorite flower name, Marguerite is my second favorite, and Violet is my third favorite. Some of my other favorites are Lobelia, Magnolia, Azalea, Camellia, Celandine, Lavender, and Heather, those are not in order.

Lavender like Heather is a flower name that is feminine without being overly cutesy. When I was a little girl I loved the flower name Petunia but that is way too cutesy, it is a name only suitable for a pet. Lavender on the other hand is a name that works great for a human just like Heather.

I can only think of Lavender Brown from Harry Potter. not a fan of her haha

I want to like it as a hippy herbal name. But I don't. My impression is that it's kind of schlocky. It's like Saffron or Clover or Velvet - it doesn't sound that much like a name, so it stands out. Yet lavender isn't evocative of anything sublime, just the picturesque French countryside and soothing scented spa products. So it's sort of marketing-image-ish, to me. If lavender brought to mind something more complex than quasi-rustic pleasure and relaxation, it would be a better name. The "lav" sound is also a little brassy ... it's so unusual, that the word association with "lavish" and "lavatory" is stronger than it should be. And, it doesn't help that I once met a young woman who had adopted the name Lavender for herself. "Lavender" was a self-styled libertine, and made much of being that. So my image is not exactly stripperish, but self-consciously sensuous.

Aw, I actually really, really love it. I'm just not sure I'd want it to be my name as it seems like it would be a little hard to take seriously on an adult.

When I hear "lavender" used in connection with a person, I immediately think of the LGBTQ community (early/mid 20th century slang for gay + the Lavender Menace), which isn't bad necessarily; in my case, that makes me like it more...and I like that's it's a color and a plant...but I dislike the "lav" sound, so...

I think it'd be interesting to meet a Lavender (also it sort of seems like a cross between Ginger and Lavinia?), but it's not a name I'd use.

Lavender’s one of my favourites. It reminds me of the Matilda character, so it has a cool, mischeivieous feel, as well as being a more unusual vintage floral name. I don’t see a down side to it.

It's a GP, but I'm not sure how I feel about it actually being used. It's a bit much.
Lovely for a fictional character, though.

As a color, it's fine. As a scent it's wonderful.
As a name, it sucks.

It's been on my mind lately; I used it on a sim and now I'm kind of into it.
