Forty-odd years ago they'd probably have been named Karen and Sharon!Annika (usually Anneke) is middle-aged to elderly where I live, and Linnea is just another Lyn name to add to too many others. Not my choice, therefore, but I'm sure they'll fit in with their peers just fine.

I am guessing they are of Scandinavian descent, which is pretty common around here. I haven't really come across Annika or Linnea, but they do fit the trends.
