Not an -i, and not an -ey. And I mostly prefer -y to -ie except with names like Maggie. Funny how Maggie needs an -ie but Peggy doesn't. Margy looks unnatural, but Margie is fine. I was at school with a Sallie, and that looked wrong too. Maybe it's just what I'm used to that looks good.
Thinking about Johnnie Walker Scotch and the poet Rabbie Burns, I wonder if an -ie spelling is or was typically Scottish.

Yes, Maggie and Margie are exceptions to me, as far as not liking IE endings. Maybe only because the IE ending is so established in those two cases, but Maggy and Margy just don't look right. There may be a few other exceptions that I'm not remembering right now.
Of course, I really hate both Maggie and Margie anyway.

I love the name Maggie, I guess at any spelling, though I'd first consider the 'ie' appendage.
