Dagmar, Fay, Beulah, & Myrtle

Whatever happened to her? She had a husband named Kurt/Jim, right?
I don't remember what she said her husband's name was. Best I can tell, she last posted a year ago. I guess she just lost interest.
Dagmar has a pleasantly midnight-sun vibe but it's too foreign for my simple tastes!
Fay is a bit ambitious IRL - what if she was stout and clumsy? (I once met a Faye who was exactly that.)
Beulah is the total pits. It puts other horrors like Blanche and Gertrude into the shade.
Myrtle has positive associations for me, human and plant, but I don't much enjoy that yr sound.

Faye is nice, I'd use it for a middle name if I had nothing better.
The rest are just awful for people. Dagmar might be all right if you're a German pinup model from the fifties or something.

I would never use any of them. I kind of admire Dagmar, but I can't say it without it sounding ugly. Myrtle and Beulah sound comic to me - their sounds are just so ugly in my accent, murdull and byooluh. Good "ironic" names for inanimate objects. Fay seems neither fey nor glamorous despite wanting to be. It's just sort of squishy and weak (and it doesn't help that the only Fay I've ever met, was an unpleasant person).
Did you use the names because you like them?

No. I used them because I thought they were comical. I do really like Fay, though.
I know a lot of/most people really, really dislike Beulah, but I genuinely don't understand it. Can someone explain it? I think it's quite cute!
I like Fay, too, but I'm not sure I would ever like it enough to use it. Maybe if it was literally the only name my SO and I could agree we liked vaguely.
Myrtle is sweet but again not something I would use. It reminds me of reptiles and Moaning Myrtle.
Dagmar gives me a dated feel and I'm not Germanic enough to use it.

I like Beulah, too. I think most dislike it because it's "old" and is consonant heavy, which isn't exactly a popular sound right now. It is a nice name, though, and it would be nice to see it used more.
